Dalic: Croatia will have enough energy for England

Harry Kane of England is the leading scorer at the World Cup

England have entered the semifinal of the World Cup for the first time since 1990 and will have to surpass the Croatian test to make it to the final.

Soccer Football - World Cup - Quarter Final - Russia fans watch Russia vs Croatia - FIFA Fan Fest, Moscow, Russia - July 7, 2018 A Russia fan reacts during the game.

Russian Federation is holding its first-ever FIFA World Cup, which kicked off in Moscow with a spectacular opening show at the Luzhniki Stadium on the night of June 14. They are two great players, everyone knows that.

"They are really good at set-pieces and their tall players are risky at corners. If I had a vote, I would vote for Luka", he said. "I hope that against England it will finally be our style of play and our match".

Eight of England's 11 goals so far have come via free kicks, corners or penalties, which is four more than any other team and the most since Portugal also scored eight set-piece goals at the World Cup in 1966. For long their national team hasn't justified their claim that they have the best league in the world. But you have a great team and it will be a really hard game.

Why can't the Celtic soul brothers hate England like we used to?.

.

"There are no favourites at this World Cup, every game is 50-50 and you have to fight it out".

But Croatia still lack a major title, and this World Cup is seen as the last chance for this golden generation, which apart from Modric includes Monaco goalkeeper Danijel Subasic, Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic and Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

In the Luzhniki on Wednesday, Modric will be confronted with his past when he runs into current tournament top scorer and Golden Ball rival Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.

"I think Raheem Sterling is an important player because he is fast and unsafe alongside Harry Kane", Dalic said in a press conference Sunday.

"I think we are underdogs from day one and it's good for us, " Lovren said.

Modric himself is not fussed with the Golden Ball or the World Player award in September, because "the most important thing is Croatia".

"Of course there is some power left for the English - we will not stop, we will try to play our best game then".
