First PGA Tour stop in Detroit is full-go for June 2019

Brooke Henderson reacts to the fans at the end of her second round of the Canadian Pacific Women's Open at Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club

"The fact that Aon is providing equal prize money for the men (PGA TOUR) and women (LPGA) has made a huge statement to our players, and we couldn't be more appreciative".

TPC Twin Cities in Blaine will play host to the FedEx Cup event running July 1-7.

"The PGA TOUR stop in Detroit is the latest major announcement confirming Detroit is well on its way to becoming one of our country's premier entertainment destinations", Quicken Loans CEO Jay Farner said in the original release.

Houston and Greenbrier are to return to the fall portion of the schedule in 2019.

Next year's Northern Trust will return to Liberty National in Jersey City, New Jersey, before heading to TPC Boston in 2020.

"It was a tough decision on folding the Dell Technologies event after this year, and the reason it was so tough is that it has been a great event for 15-plus years", said PGA Tour chief tournament and competitions officer Andy Pazder.

The 2018-19 season tees off October 4-7 with the Safeway Open in Napa, Calif.

The PGA Championship will be May 16-19 at Bethpage Black on Long Island, splitting part of the Texas swing - the AT&T Byron Nelson in Dallas will be the week before the PGA, and the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial will be the week after the PGA.

The three playoff events are The Northern Trust at Liberty National in New Jersey; the BMW Championship at Medinah outside Chicago; and the Tour Championship, which will be August 22-25 at East Lake in Atlanta.

As previously announced, the RBC Canadian Open is moving to the week before the U.S. Open, and its date following The Open is being filled by the World Golf Championship event that is moving from Akron, Ohio, to Memphis, Tennessee, and will now be known as the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. FedEx first became the title sponsor in 1986 and has supported the tournament ever since. So other than a tour pro potentially changing his/her schedule, essentially, you just play tournaments and hope to score well on the selected holes.

The 46 events include four tournaments held opposite World Golf Championships, and one event opposite the British Open.
