Footage from inside the Wonderboom plane before crash released

Пассажир разбившегося в ЮАР лайнера снял падение самолета изнутри

One person has died and 19 others have been injured after the plane they were travelling in crashed in Wonderboom in Pretoria north.

The video, which was being circulated on Twitter and Whatsapp, appears to have been taken from inside the plane by one of the passengers, and shows flames coming from the left wing of the aircraft.

A video filmed by a passenger on board shows the terrifying moment the plane made impact with the ground. "It's getting bad. This is getting very bad". "It's getting worse", the passenger can be heard saying as the plane plummets towards the ground. The crash killed two people, 18 people received injuries of varying severity.

Moments later, a sound like an explosion is heard, and the screen goes black.

The aftermath of a plane crash near Pretoria, South Africa, is seen in this image taken from social media July 10, 2018.

According to Aviation-Safety.net the aircraft, which has 20 aboard, had been donated by the owner, Rovos Air, to the Dutch aviation theme park Aviodrome.

Chris Barnard, a South African flight engineer, died at the scene.

The two Australian pilots, Captain Ross Kelly and Doug Hayward, were both critically injured.

An investigation into the cause of the flames has been begun by the SA Civil Aviation Authority.

"We were deeply upset to learn that two Qantas pilots, one current and one retired, were on board the vintage aircraft involved in an accident in South Africa on Tuesday", a Qantas spokesperson said last week.
