Fortnite's Playground Mode Will Be Closed Down Again Next Week

Fortnite's newest limited time mode, Playground, will leave the game on Thursday, July 12, developer Epic Games has announced.

The Playground mode was a heavily requested feature since Fortnite Battle Royale first gained popularity, allowing players to practice their building without the pressure of a real match.

"For the next version of Playground we're hoping to include functionality that would allow team selection options within the Playground itself".

Each Playground match lasts for one hour, and the storm circle won't begin closing in on the map until 55 minutes have passed. That would enable 1v1 and 2v2 games, the ability to edit structures built by other players, traps that react properly to enemies and teammates, highlighting teammates on the map, and being able to do damage to enemy players with your pickaxe.

Until there is a set arrival date, players will continue to express their creativity and push the limits of Fortnite: Battle Royale in the Playground LTM.

"Thank you and let us know what else you'd love to see in a future version!" It will take some time for Epic Games to make the planned changes and improvements, and in the meantime, there are other popular game types that need featuring in the limited time mode rotation.

The feedback to this news has been mostly positive online, with fans sharing their thoughts on the LTM. "We all landed tilted, and by the time we were done, it was unrecognisable", one fan posted on Reddit.
