How to clean up Xbox One add-ons for more free space

Xbox One rolls out FastStart feature to speed up downloads

Xbox One's July update also introduces several improvements to Mixer. FastStartFirst introduced three weeks ago for Alpha and Alpha Skip Ahead Insider rings, FastStart now arrives for all.

FastStart is a new innovation from our Xbox Platform team that allows you to jump into your games twice as fast and play after downloading just a fraction of it. FastStart works by identifying which files are needed to begin playing and prioritizes the download of those files first, enabling you to quickly jump into full-fidelity gameplay while the remainder of your title downloads in the background.

According to the FastStart FAQ, the download times (at least until the playable threshold) for games with the feature enabled are about half of what they would be normally.

The catch is that the feature is only available right now on certain English-language titles in the Game Pass catalog. The update will include "FastStart", which is a feature created to address one of the biggest frustrations of modern gaming: Being forced to wait for your titles to download before you can play them. More Search OptionsPlayers can now press the Y button while in the dashboard to bring up the search box. Mixer's also been given some attention, with full mouse and keyboard support for PC users and Share Controller key bindings now at your disposal.

The next time you start it up, take a good look into your inventory and you'll see a Founder's Pack with a number of legendary items. Touch-enabled devices get multi-touch support so that multiple controls can be used simultaneously. Each channel also now features leaderboards, showing who contributed the most.

Additionally, Mixer streamers can now go full-screen with their webcam when broadcasting. There's even the opportunity to do full broadcasts in this mode if you choose.

The update started rolling out for everybody yesterday, July 5th, so if you haven't received it already, you should be getting these features soon.
