Kimmel: It's weird to hear Trump lie about you

Comedian Jimmy Kimmel speaks to the media at a gala honoring David Letterman who is receiving the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at Kennedy Center in Washington U.S

At a rally last month, Trump claimed that Kimmel waited for him outside the studio before a 2015 appearance on the show.

Jimmy Kimmel accused President Trump of lying about the ABC late-night host waiting outside his studio on Hollywood Boulevard to eagerly open Trump's vehicle door upon his arrival.

The ABC host was conspicuously silent until Monday night when he revealed he only just saw the footage as he was on a fishing holiday deep in the wilderness of Montana and didn't have reception. "I said, 'Does he do this to everybody?' His people said 'He does it for nobody.'" Trump went on to say that Kimmel probably waited specifically for him because he had "potential".

"I do it for nobody because that never happened", he fired back.

'Jimmy Kimmel would meet me, before the election.no talent, but I go to his studio to do a shot.

"Finally, they crack this thing open, and the candy comes out, and they all dive in and fight each other for it", he recalls.

"Our guests don't even come in this way through the front door, they come in the back through the alley", Kimmel said.

"It's a amusing thing", Kimmel told the audience. "Even the people who like the president know he makes things up", Kimmel said.

And then, Kimmel added, "That story is exactly as true as his was".

'I like to greet the guests on stage. "I feel dumb saying hello to them and then saying hello to them again 10 minutes later".

"Can you imagine me standing outside waiting for guests on Hollywood Boulevard?" he asked.

The host then sent out a camera to the studio's front door to show his audience how impossible it would be for Kimmel to wait for guests out on Hollywood Boulevard, where the sidewalks are busy with tourists, celebrity impersonators, and a insane guy holding a snake.

What do you think of Kimmel's response?

In response, Kimmel told his own version of the story - one that he claims to be as factual as the Trump version of events.
