Man steals car from date to go on another date

Faith Pugh says it happened on Saturday when she went to meet Kelton Griffin for dinner.

"I don't know who dropped him off", Pugh told WREG. "I came outside and my auto was gone". But as if to add insult to injury, he also used the vehicle to take the woman's godsister to the movies.

The woman was forced to contact her family to ask for a ride from the gas station.

It turns out that was a big mistake.

Pugh, of Memphis, Tenn., was then horrified to receive a text from her godsister - the child of one of her godparents - saying that Griffin had appeared and asked her out.

"I said, 'Okay, well send me the address to where you at, and I'm on my way".

The other date had messaged Ms Pugh, surprised Griffin had asked her on a date, before the women agreed to use her Global Positioning System tracker so they could track him down. While she was inside, Griffin allegedly drove off in her auto, according to the report.

The godsister reportedly agreed to the date so Pugh could get her auto back. "He didn't even have any money", Pugh told WREG.

Police were able to crash the date and arrested Griffin.

It's not his first arrest.

Ms Pugh was able to track her Volvo after Griffin allegedly picked up her god sister.

In 2016, police said he and two other men ate out before robbing a restaurant.

She raged: "I hope he's in jail for a long time. I never want to speak to him ever again", she said.
