More than 30 Ryanair passengers hurt after plane loses cabin pressure

Over 30 passengers hospitalised after Ryanair flight makes emergency landing in Frankfurt

In line with standard procedure, the crew deployed oxygen masks and initiated a controlled descent. "So we were all awake upwards of 36 hours of the entire ordeal - just completely exhausted, shattered and I would just say shocked with the treatment that we received from Ryanair".

A lack of food was noted, with a Twitter user saying only 100 McDonalds burgers arrived for 189 passengers in the morning.

The flight subsequently diverted to Frankfurt-Hahn airport, where paramedics and emergency physicians tended to passengers upon landing.

'There was a newborn baby and children on the flight, people are screaming and we don't know what's going on for 15 minutes.

"It was that moment we were plummeting that we were thinking, 'This is it, we're going to die, '" said Brownlee.

Writing on Facebook, he described how the air went cold before the oxygen masks dropped from above, adding that the plane had to "dive 3,000 metres in less than one minute".

Passengers of budget airline Ryanair have expressed anger over the way they were treated following an unscheduled landing in Germany that forced dozens to seek hospital treatment.

Ryanair said a plane had left Frankfurt to Zadar on Saturday morning.

In a statement, Ryanair said passengers were provided with refreshment vouchers and hotel accommodation was authorised.

The airline also said that the plane "landed normally" and a "a small number [of passengers] received medical attention as a precaution".

Over thirty passengers were injured yesterday night on a Ryanair flight from Dublin to Zadar after the Boeing 737-800 aircraft lost cabin pressure.

Earlier this week a co-pilot smoking an e-cigarette on an Air China flight caused the plane to start a rapid emergency descent, bringing the plane 6,500m lower, investigators said.

Ryanair, which flies in 37 countries and carried 130 million passengers past year, is Europe's largest airline by passenger numbers, according to the International Air Transport Association.
