Ryan Giggs insists C.Ronaldo moved to Juventus because of Lionel Messi

Fiat workers in Italy are to strike over footballer Cristiano Ronaldo's £88 million transfer from Real Madrid to Juventus.

Both the football club and the carmaker are controlled by the Agnelli family through their holding company.

What do you think about the USB Lavoro Privato union's decision to go on strike?

"It is unacceptable that while the (owners) ask workers of FCA. for huge economic sacrifices for years, the same decide to spend hundreds of millions of euros for the purchase of a player", said the USB Union.

If Ronaldo can lead Juventus to the UEFA Champions League final, the media exposure for that year alone would be worth about $US58.3 million, according to Eric Smallwood, president of Apex Marketing Group.

Milinkovic-Savic has developed a reputation as one of the most exciting young players in Europe since joining Lazio from Genk three years ago and he provided 14 goals and 9 assists last season as they narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification with a fifth-placed finish in Serie A.

The vehicle manufacturer Fiat, to which the brand Ferrari exclusively belongs, is reportedly 29.1 percent owned by the Agnelli family, who also hold about 63.77 percent of Juventus. "That means more sponsors, more TV money and more prize money", he told BBC.

Joao Cancelo has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo's "winning mentality" after the Portuguese superstar's sensational switch to Juventus.

The proposed strike will take place at the Melfi plant in southern Italy at 10pm local time on Sunday, lasting until 6pm the following Tuesday.

However, the impact of the stoppage is likely to be limited.
