Stephen Lynch was confused with Louie Gohmert during Peter Strzok hearing

Page worked on the special counsel's Russian Federation investigation, and her anti-Trump text messages with Peter Strzok fueled several investigations into whether the DOJ and FBI showed bias during the Russian Federation probe and the investigation into Hillary Clinton's email server.

In an interview after his explosive performance questioning Peter Strzok Thursday, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) made astounding claims against former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Fox News. "This was not about getting answers from Strzok".

"Mr. Gowdy, my understanding of why I was kicked off was that based on an understanding of those texts, and the perception that they might create-" Strzok said.

Strzok called it "horrible and disgusting behaviour", and said he was stating his opinion the electorate would "stop" a candidate like that.

"Let me be clear, unequivocally and under oath: not once in my 26 years of defending my nation did my personal opinions impact any official action I took", he is expected to say. He characterized the anti-Trump text messages as personal communications that he never envisioned becoming public and denied that they had swayed his actions.

"I've talked to Federal Bureau of Investigation agents around the country".

The FBI agent went on to assail Republicans for corroding "what the FBI is in American society", and impairing its capacity to execute its mission.

"I strongly believe that today's hearing is just another victory notch in Putin's belt", he told members of the committees.

Representative Louie Gohmert went so far as to call out Strzok over his affair with Page, while other House Republicans, including Trey Gowdy, Jim Jordan and Bob Goodlatte, chastised him over what they believed was bias toward Trump during the investigations of Hillary Clinton's private email server and the Trump campaign's alleged contacts with Russian Federation during the 2016 campaign. Peter Strzok oversaw the opening of the investigation into Russia's alleged interference in the 2016 election.

Strzok later replied that he has "always told the truth".

The hearing lasted five hours and may resume on Monday.

It is point that has been largely brushed aside in Trump-friendly media circles, with a text Strzok sent to Page in May 2017 also receiving comparatively little scrutiny.

Republicans, on the other hand, peppered Strzok with questions and expressed outrage that's been building for months.
