Trump ratchets up 'fake news' rally cry overseas during United Kingdom visit

President Trump squabbled with reporters Friday and refused to take a question from "fake news" network CNN - prompting a journalist from Fox News to issue a statement defending his colleagues.

Trump also reiterated that he thinks Boris Johnson would be a great prime minister. "CNN is fake news I don't take questions from CNN", Trump said into the microphone.

In his interview with The Sun, Trump slammed May over her "soft" Brexit plan, which has put May's standing as the head of the Conservative Party in jeopardy.

Trump hurled insults at CNN reporter Jim Acosta and NBC's Kristen Welker at a joint press conference with UK Prime Minister Theresa May following a lunch at Chequers.

"No. No. John Roberts go ahead". I also used to work at CNN.

During the questioning period with reporters, Acosta shouted at President Trump after he took a dig at the network and asked if he could get a question.

"I do not take questions from CNN", Trump said. "John Roberts from Fox, lets go to a real network".

President Donald Trump said United Kingdom tabloid The Sun delivered "fake news", but then said it didn't deliver "fake news", so when he said it was "fake news", that was "fake news".

Pres. Trump denies interview with The Sun was critical of Prime Minister Theresa May.

'See, that's such dishonest reporting, ' a dismissive Trump replied, ' because - of course, it happens to be NBC, which is possibly worse than CNN!'

Trump became unhappy with NBC reporter Kristen Welker after being asked if his criticisms of USA allies help Russian President Vladimir Putin. "There are some fine journalists who work there and risk their lives to report on stories around the world". She's as honest as the day is long.
