Bulls to play regular season game in Mexico City on December 13

Utah Jazz to play first-ever regular season game in Mexico City during 2018-19

Now the Bulls will be taking their talents to Mexico City to play in a game against the Orlando Magic.

"Returning to Mexico City for two regular-season games this season reinforces our commitment to growing basketball in Mexico and Latin America, " NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said in a release.

By the end of the 2020 season, the National Basketball Association is hoping to have played 32 games in Mexico, proving the league's continued attempt to grow the game globally.

Orlando will compete in both games at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City.

The Jazz last played in a preseason game at Mexico City versus Dallas on October 5, 2003, in front of a sellout crowd of 20,092 fans.

"Having played in England twice, Japan, China, Mexico and Brazil, the Orlando Magic are always honored to participate in the NBA's Global Games", said Magic chief executive Alex Martins.

So, although this trip will mark the franchise's first regular-season game at this particular site, it certainly isn't uncharted territory for the organization.

Unlike the previous Mexico City "hosts" - Suns in 2016-17 and Nets in 2017-18 - Orlando drew fairly decent home attendance the prior year. Season ticket holders will be reimbursed the price of those two games.

Benny, the mascot of the Chicago Bulls, waves a flag before game 2 against the Milwaukee Bucks during the first round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs at the United Center on April 20, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois. "From our previous experience of playing in Mexico City, we know the passion of the fans and look forward to this wonderful opportunity". The NBA regular season schedule is expected to be released by the end of this week. Both of the Brooklyn Nets' games in Mexico City a year ago against the Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat aired on ESPN. The NBA has created one of the largest social media communities in the world, with 1.5 billion likes and followers globally across all league, team, and player platforms.
