Catherine Oxenberg on learning her daughter had been branded by Nxivm

During an interview with Megyn Kelly on Dateline, Dynasty star Catherine Oxenberg revealed that her daughter, India, was branded by the Allison Mack NXIVM sex cult.

Oxenberg has spent the past year trying to bring down the cult in a bid to get 27-year-old daughter away from the organization which has been accused to branding female members and using them as sex slaves.

Following Keith Raniere's arrest in March 2018, fragments of Nxivm's disturbing actions have come into the light. "And that's why I feel responsible for getting her out..." she told host, Megyn Kelly.

Like Smallville actress/alleged sex-cult henchman Allison Mack, India Oxenberg (above, insert) could've ended up facing life imprisonment for her involvement with NXIVM.

Later on in the interview, Oxenberg said that she was wracked with "horrendous guilt" after introducing India to NXIVM and taking her to one of the sex cult's motivational courses while under the impression they could help her become a successful entrepreneur.

But her mother, Catherine Oxenberg, wasn't about to let that happen. "It was a good experience for me", she recalls India saying. If I hadn't done what I had done, maybe my daughter India would be sitting where Allison is today.

But Oxenberg is not taking all the credit for the demise of NXIVM or her daughter's harrowing escape. "I said, "Are you aware of what you're branded with?' And she said, 'Some Latin symbol".She said it was character building". "At first I felt horrendous guilt that I had participated in bringing my daughter into an organisation that was this deviant and risky". "And then I started to educate myself". I spoke to numerous experts and they said, 'Would you stop blaming yourself? "And India never stood a chance'". She was ordered held without bail and has since been released on $5 million bail.

Despite Catherine's best efforts, India was drawn deeper into the cult, eventually joining a secret, elite "sorority" of women members who were ordered to maintain a restricted diet of five to eight hundred calories a day, recruit other women as "slaves", and were branded with their leader's initials.

A few weeks later, in May 2017, she says she asked the question "no mother should ever have to ask her daughter".
