Forbes has just released its World's Highest-Paid Actress list for 2018 and Scarlett Johansson is the top earner, thanks in large part to her unstoppable Marvel alter ego.
Scarlett Johansson also has a solo Black Widow movie in development at Marvel, said to be a prequel taking place before the first The Avengers movie.
"Avengers: Infinity War" star Scarlett Johansson was named the highest-paid actress by Forbes on Thursday. The MCU superhero film had Scarlett aka Black Widow teaming up with Captain America, Black Panther, Hulk, Winter Soldier, Thor, Vision, Scarlet Witch and the Guardians of the Galaxy, to fight the mighty Thanos and stop him from acquiring all the six infinity stones.
Johansson, 33, took in US$40.5 million in pre-tax earnings from June 1, 2017, to June 1, 2018, quadrupling her income from the previous year, according to Forbes' calculations.
Coming in second on the list after Johansson is Angelina Jolie with $28 million - which is reportedly largely due to her upfront pay for Maleficent 2. She was followed by Angelina Jolie ($28 million), Jennifer Aniston ($19.5 million), Jennifer Lawrence ($18 million), and Reese Witherspoon ($16.5 million). Jennifer Aniston sat at third place, thanks to royalties she still gets from the defunct TV series "Friends" and endorsement deals from companies like Emirates airlines.
Also featured on the top list are Mila Kunis (No. 6, $16 million), Julia Roberts (No. 7, $13 million), Cate Blanchett (No. 8, $12.5 million) and Melissa McCarthy (No. 9, $12 million).
Stone didn't feature at all in this year's top 10.
