Manchester United Set To Make A Major Change: Will Jose Be Happy?

Paul Pogba reportedly fell out with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United last season

By making him captain, Mourinho is acknowledging Pogba's importance to United and challenging him to prove it on a consistent basis.

'We'll see which players come out. "I don't think about signings". "There are things that I can not say otherwise I will get fined", Pogba said.

Pogba, 25, is coming off the back of an excellent performance in the 2018 World Cup, in which he helped lead his country to victory, scoring as they beat Croatia 4-2 in the final in Moscow.

Pogba was among the goals in that contest, along with Luke Shaw, and much of the post-match reaction has focused on the Frenchman and his sometimes strained relationship with Mourinho.

The midfielder was arguably United's best player throughout, bossing the midfield while being the main creative outlet for the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford.

The 23-year-old was unhappy with his treatment from Mourinho last season and the United manager even went public with his criticism of the left-back.

However, Pogba has always been a serial victor and the lack of trophies may force him someday to pursue challenges somewhere else and that is why Mourinho now needs to find a solution quickly more than ever.

"If there was a choice of managers, I'd want to play for - in terms of the privilege of playing for them - it would be Pep Guardiola, Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp, for starters".

Paul Pogba has found it hard in recent seasons to produce consistently good performances for Manchester United, but in their opening fixture of the new Premier League season, the Frenchman seemed like a totally different player.

"I still enjoying playing football but like I said, when you are comfortable or confident and are good in the head, it's going to be easier".

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu did not rule out a move for Paul Pogba as he admitted there could still be business done before the transfer window closes in Spain. As per one of the latest reports by The Guardian, Manchester United are set to appoint a Director of Football for the first time, once the club completes its restructuring and expansion process.
