Premier League football club Liverpool have reported star player Mohamed Salah to the police after footage emerged of the Egyptian forward using a mobile phone while driving his auto.

Merseyside Police sent out the below tweet confirming that they were aware of the incident. Salah scored the first goal for his side in the match.

'We have spoken to the player also and will deal with any follow-up internally.

The club took the action after speaking to the Egypt global following the video being posted online.

Salah was caught using his mobile phone while driving.

Merseyside Police confirmed that they were aware of the footage and were dealing with the incident appropriately. "Neither the club nor player will be making any further comment on this matter".

Salah had reported for training with Liverpool on Monday to undergo a warm weather training session along with the rest of the squad. This has been passed to the relevant department.

The club says it will make no further comment on the matter and would deal with the issue 'internally'.
