Paris Jackson Reveals She Had Surgery for an Abscess

Paris Jackson formed the group with musician and singer Gabriel Glenn

"So, long story short, I had surgery yesterday", Jackson said, according to People, explaining that she had "an abscess that was nearly the size of a golf ball" and that if one pops, "you can go septic and die". She has sung and played guitar for years as a hobby and had said in 2017 in an interview for Carine Roitfeld's CR Fashion Book that she writes songs for herself "as a way to get stuff out", adding, "It's not something I see myself following career-wise".

Despite the medical emergency, Jackson still managed to perform Saturday with the band she founded in May, The Soundflowers, at the Canyon Sessions' fundraiser in Los Angeles. "And, I don't know, that means the world to me", she said, as per Page Six.

Jackson also revealed she is on a lot of medication to treat pain stemming from the operation. She later told fans she should not have even left bed Saturday!

An abscess is a collection of pus - usually caused by a bacterial infection - that has built up within the tissue of the body and can cause redness, pain, warmth, and swelling.

According to TMZ, the 20-year-old Jackson said it was the group's second live performance. "I love you so much grandma. i'm so happy we got to play for you and to play for such an incredible cause (sic)".

Paris was thrilled to have her grandmother and former legal guardian, Katherine Jackson, cheering her on at the benefit which raised over $50K for F*** Cancer.

As previously reported, Paris will join her brother Prince and her late father's brothers Jackie, Marlon and Tito at the Michael Jackson Diamond Birthday Celebration on August 29 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, also made an appearance.
