Partial Solar Eclipse On August 11

Eclipse 2018 Astrological sign of Leo

Following the blood moon on July 27, August 11 will witness a partial solar eclipse. This eclipse will also be a, a phenomenon where the appears red in colour. The eclipse could be seen at selected places in North and East Asia, Scandinavia in Europe, Iceland, Greenland and the icy regions of Canada around Nunavut and the Northwest Passage, the report said. The Sun and the Moon are going to cross pathson this day.

The last solar eclipse of 2018 will start at 11:02 am local Doha time, while the partial eclipse will reach its peak at 12:46 pm and the last stages of the partial eclipse will end at 2:31 pm, lasting a period of three hours and twenty-nine minutes, Dr Marzouk said.

Although the "Blood Moon" snubbed North America, media coverage of the astronomical display on June 27 softened the bitterness of USA stargazers after being excluded from one of the most remarkable celestial shows of the year.

Created by Australian amateur astronomer Tom Harradine, the photo is a composite image of several moon snapshots that he took during July's total lunar eclipse, rearranged to showcase our planet's umbra, or the deep shadow cast by the Earth.

The Moon was gradually covered by the Earth's shadow and the totality phase began at 1 a.m. IST. The moon will block the entire disk of the sun in the case of total eclipse, or blocking part of the disk of the sun in the case of partial eclipse. This will make the moon appear smaller than regular, and much smaller than it looks during the Super Moon (when the moon is at the closest point in its orbit from the Earth). The moon in the lunar eclipse will also be passing through the middle of the Earth's shadow, meaning it will spend the maximum time in darkness, thus contributing to the long duration of the eclipse.
