Peta's Forecast - Tracking evening rain and storms

Hot, Humid, Chance of Storms Monday

With the humidity, afternoon heat index values will reach the mid to upper 90s.

Towards the end of the week on Friday a frontal system will try to work its way into the ArkLaTex area.

After a few scattered and isolated storms popped up across our area this afternoon, things will be getting better for this evening and into the overnight hours.

Mostly cloudy skies continue into Tuesday with a renewed chance for scattered storms, mainly south of I-80.

Then on Sunday the atmosphere will still be rather juicy to fire off another round of hit or miss showers. Dew points remain high for a next few days continuing to give us muggy conditions.

Highs will warm into the low 90s tomorrow and Wednesday. The severe weather threat is there but on the low side. Sunday evening the stronger storms are expected far north. Coverage with the showers and storms 30%-40%. A low pressure center will get cutoff from the larger flow just to our southwest.

A shower looks possible at any time, but neither day will be a washout. Otherwise, clouds will slow down warming and highs will reach the upper 80s.

Surprise, surprise! More rain and thunderstorm chances on Monday!
