The OnePlus 6T will launch on T-Mobile for $550 this fall

Like its predecessor, the highly-recommended OnePlus 6, the OnePlus 6T is expected to start at $550, far below the $850 to $1000 price tag of most modern flagship handsets. This marks the first time that OnePlus will have a USA carrier partner for a device launch.

With U.S. carrier support, OnePlus could see a huge jump in sales and brand awareness.

"People familiar with the launch plans" say OnePlus and T-Mobile's exclusive retail agreement is a done deal, although "technical approval" could still cause a bit of a delay. However, the lack of carrier availability (at least in the U.S.) is still a barrier for some potential customers that keep them from pulling the trigger.

You'll still be able to purchase an unlocked variant of the OnePlus 6T that'll work on AT&T and T-Mobile networks, but being sold directly by T-Mobile both online and in-stores will make OnePlus far more visible to US consumers than it's ever been before.

The OnePlus 6T will be sold by T-Mobile when it launches in October, according to sources speaking to CNET. T-Mobile will reportedly be the exclusive US carrier partner for the new OnePlus phone, and it's expected that there will be a special version of the phone that's "optimized" for the T-Mobile network, including support for T-Mo's 600MHz LTE coverage.
