United striker Wilson moves to Aberdeen

James Wilson of Manchester United during the Premier League 2 fixture between Manchester United and Liverpool at Leigh Sports Village

Aberdeen sold their top scorer to Salford City and Wilson will now help them fill the void.

The 22-year-old, who has previously enjoyed loan spells at Brighton, Derby and Sheffield United, spent the second half of last season on loan at Bramall Lane. "He has the pace, ability and technique and no doubt he will have the real confidence and personality to become a big player for us". That was a big move because it was the first time I had moved away from home.

Wilson has seen the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez join United in recent years to further complicate his route to the first team.

Wilson has been in and out of the Man United U23s set-up for the past few seasons and the number of loan moves he's completing seems to just be delaying the inevitable, a permanent move away. That's why he is determined to make a similar impact at Aberdeen to previous loan signings James Maddison and Danny Ward, who both made multi-
million pound moves to Leicester City in the summer. When asked about the allegations he said:"I think all that is totally irrelevant".

"That's football these days. The big clubs can bring in the big-money signings and go for the players that have proved themselves already.

We've got two cups to play in and obviously the league to compete for, so I think that'll be a big thing". "Hopefully the options will come thick and fast at the end of it".

Dons boss Derek McInnes described the deal as a "great bit of business".

"There were other clubs interested in taking James but he feels this is the right place for him to continue his development".
