Xiaomi stated the event would be live streamed across all its portals including Mi.com, YouTube, Facebook, etc. Xiaomi India also confirmed that it would be giving away 100 F-codes to purchase the Mi A2 if a user registers to watch the live stream of the handset on Mi India website.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 has arrived in India after a global launch in Spain last month.

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has experienced a meteoric rise after it launched its first smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 3 in the Indian market back in 2014. This is for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version of the Mi A2. The 6GB RAM/ 128GB inbuilt storage variant was also launched, but, the smartphone will be coming soon, and no price has yet been revealed. The phone will be exclusively available on Amazon starting from Aug 9 at 12noon. Now, as reported by MySmartPrice, the same model is available for pre-order on Amazon.in app for Rs. 17,499. Buyers will be entitled to Rs 2,200 cashback from Reliance Jio, as well as 4.5TB worth of free data.

The software on the Mi A2 is among its highlights. That's because it runs Android Oreo based Android One platform.

On the design front too, the Mi A2 gets an upgrade over last year's Mi A1. The front is covered with glass, while the back is an aluminum body. In line with the current trends, the device adopts a tall display with very slim bezels on the sides.

Display: The Mi A2 comes with a 5.99-inch "full-screen" FHD+ IPS LCD display with a 2160x1080p resolution and 403ppi pixel density. It is powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset with an Adreno 512 GPU. There is no microSD slot or headphone jack. The dual camera setup is further assisted by a dual-LED (dual-tone) flash. Also, this time, it has EIS built-in for video stabilisation, a feature consumers asked on the Mi A1. Up front too the 5-megapixel snapper has been replaced by a 20-megapixel snapper accompanied by a soft light LED flash.

- Xiaomi packs in an extra surprise for India in that the Mi A2 India variant will support Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0 technology as opposed to the European variant that supports Quick Charge 3.0.

Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and USB Type-C port.
