Eminem regrets using homophobic slur in new album

Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly

During his multi-part interview with Sway about his new album Kamikaze, Eminem took a moment to address the song "Fall", specifically the line "Tyler create nothin', I see why you called yourself a faggot, bitch".

Eminem said his "breaking point" came when Tyler criticised his Beyoncé collaboration "Walk On Water".

Eminem's feud with Tyler, the Creator stems from when he appeared to make fun of Eminem's 2017 single "Walk on Water", tweeting, "Dear god this song is awful, sheesh how the f-k".

"I realize now - and I realized when I said it, but I wasn't in the mind frame of". You think I actually f***in' think about you? "Kellz, the day you put out a hit is the day Diddy admits that he put the hit out that got Pac killed", he raps, later adding, "You know I'm just playing Diddy / You know I love you". He was a amusing dude.

"I think the word that I called him on that song was one of the things where I felt like, 'This might be too far'".

He goes on to say, "Now I'm in this weird thing because I gotta answer this motherf****r and every time I do that, as irrelevant as people say I am in Hip Hop, I make them bigger by getting into this thing where I wanna destroy him, but I don't wanna make them bigger".

Eminem explained that he kept coming back to that word when putting the album together because he didn't "feel right" about it, so his team "spun the word back" to obscure it, but he now realizes everyone could still understand what he's saying.

Tyler, the Creator has yet to respond to Em's public apology. "You would suck a dick to fuckin" be me for a second", says Em.

As Eminem explained in an interview with Sway Calloway released late Thursday, he chose to stand up for himself after Tyler criticized his 2017 song, "Walk on Water", on Twitter despite the two expressing mutual admiration for each other in earlier years. Six years ago might seem a long time, but some things aren't forgiven or forgotten very easily - and apparently not if you're Eminem.
