Geoffrey Owens to Guest Star on ‘NCIS: New Orleans’

Getting job shamed is turning out to be very good for Geoffrey Owens career... he just booked another TV role in wake of his viral Trader Joe's

"For Commander Adams, we needed someone with compassion, competence and heart..."

Now, his landed a role on "NCIS: New Orleans", according to USA Today.

Executive producer Christopher Silber explained the motivation for casting Owens: "For Cmdr". "We're lucky to have him on the show".

On Monday's episode of Queen Radio, Nicki discussed her pledge ... saying she was having a tough time getting in touch with Owens' team - but our sources say Geoffrey's team hasn't heard a peep, and are easily reachable.

Owens appeared on "The Cosby Show" from 1985-1992 and taught drama and directing at Yale for years.

Minaj also called out Karma Lawrence, the woman who took Owens' photo at a Trader Joe's in New Jersey where he was bagging groceries. However, fellow actors and others in the entertainment industry commended him for rolling up his sleeves and shared their own stories of what it's actually like to be a working class actor.

Filmmaker and actor Tyler Perry caught Owens' initial appearance on "Good Morning America" and in his own interview with Robin Roberts said he was impressed by Owens' hustle.

"I have so much respect for a man who has no pride about working". Owens, who worked at Trader Joe's for 15 months, played Sondra Huxtable's husband, Elvin, on "Cosby" in the '80s and '90s and he more recently appeared in an episode of "Lucifer" in 2017.

Season 5 premieres September 25 (10 EDT/PDT).

Owens will appear in the sixth episode of season 5, sometime in late October. This news was previously reported by Deadline.
