The Google Pixelbook 2 with edge-to-edge screen leaks again

Google's Pixelbook 2 is caught on video looking like a Microsoft Surface

Again, this device appeared to have much smaller bezels.

There's been some speculation that the search giant is preparing two new Google-made Chrome OS devices, but the rumors have been based exclusively on codenames and Chromium commits.

We're digging deep to see if we can find the original video the image was taken from but I will have to admit, it would be a stretch to think that Google made a "bad render" of the original Pixelbook in a YouTube TV ad.

Unlike the Facebook ads that showed a device with bezels so thin, it was nearly guaranteed to be a bad photoshop, these images appear significantly smaller than the original Pixelbook while keeping things realistic.

Adding more weight to this, Chrome Unboxed also came across new Pixelbook ads that seem to show a thin-bezeled Pixelbook 2 instead of the current version. After Chrome Unboxed published the story, the Chromium Bug Tracker post that contained the video was set to private, which may be a sign of its legitimacy. Perhaps the latter - assuming it does indeed have a detachable screen - is Google's answer to Microsoft's Surface laptop line-up? The keys on this keyboard are now rounded - as is Google's design language in Android Pie and Chrome OS.

Firstly, we can see thin bezels on both side, and a high-res screen.

Anyone familiar with the first-gen Pixelbook will no doubt have spotted a few glaring differences.

Google is expected to bring a bundle of new products to its Pixel 3 launch event this October, including a successor to the Google Pixelbook.

Tech blogs: "Google's hardware leaks are out of control". For the most part, Pixelbook users are restricted to using Google's app ecosystem, and whatever software they can obtain via the Google Play Store. These devices pack beefier Intel-powered specs, metallic designs, and in most cases offer larger display sizes than what we've typically seen ...

The second image of the Pixelbook 2 comes from the same series of ads and it showcases the upgraded Pixelbook, which resembles the last year's Google laptop and features a boxy design.
