Anyone can now subscribe to a $299 Lyft All-Access Plan

At least not on a comparably wide scale, as Uber ride passes are still in testing and available to only a limited number of users each month, while the Lyft All-Access Plan is coming to "everyone in the USA by the end of the week".

The new "All-Access Plan" is rolling out nationwide in the United States beginning today, and it will soon be available to all customers by the end of this week. Aimed at high-frequency users, it offered multiple tiers costing between $199 and $399 per month, depending on the number of rides required. To break even, you would need to take 20 $15 rides each month. One thing to be aware of: Lyft won't be carrying over any unused rides into the next month, so you won't be able to stack rides for an upcoming busy month.

Like gym memberships and other subscriptions, however, it's likely that many folks won't use all 30 rides. It will be available to everyone in the U.S. by the end of the week.

The plan applies to all ride types, including Lyft XL offering room for up to six passengers, Lyft Lux for high-end cars, Lux Black for "an ultra-high-end black vehicle piloted by a top driver", and Lux Black XL for a luxury SUV with room for six.

The fine print includes 5 percent off additional rides beyond the 30 in the subscription and the plan's rides does not roll over to the next month.

This sounds like a pretty solid deal, at least saving $150 if a rider actually uses the service for 30 days.

The idea is to encourage users to ditch their own cars in favor of Lyft.
