Mueller expected to issue major findings soon after midterms

Mueller said he’s ready to deliver key findings in his Trump probe

The findings won't necessarily be released publicly - Mueller will present them only to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has a say in what Congress sees and what is shared with the rest of the country.

"People are entitled to be frustrated, I can accept that", Rosenstein said in regard to the investigation.

Bloomberg notes that Mueller's findings may not be made public "if he doesn't secure unsealed indictments", as Rosenstein has some discretion to decide what is publicly released and what is disclosed to Congress.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is expected to issue findings on core aspects of his Russian Federation probe soon after the November midterm elections as he faces intensifying pressure to produce more indictments or shut down his investigation, according to two US officials.

The deputy attorney general appointed Mueller as special counsel in May 2017 after Trump fired James Comey as Federal Bureau of Investigation director.

Rosenstein said he'd been "faithful" to his confirmation hearing commitment to, in his words Wednesday, "ensure the investigation was appropriate and independent and reached the right result, whatever it may be".

In his conversation with the Journal, Rosenstein did not specify when Mueller's investigation would come to a close.

According to Bloomberg, which cited two anonymous sources, "Mueller is close to rendering judgment on two of the most explosive aspects of his inquiry: whether there were clear incidents of collusion between Russian Federation and Donald Trump's 2016 campaign, and whether the president took any actions that constitute obstruction of justice".

The findings will cover whether President Trump's campaign colluded with Russian Federation, and whether Trump obstructed of justice, an anonymous USA official told Bloomberg.
