Prince Harry and Meghan begin tour of drought-stricken Dubbo

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle have heartwarming reunion with 98-year-old royal watcher

Meghan Markle gave a shout out to her good friend Serena Williams on the second day of her tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji.

Waiting patiently at the end of a line of excited children who had gathered at the airport to meet the couple, Luke Vincent from Buninyong Public school greeted Harry with a huge bear hug before reaching out his hand to pull on his beard.

People were immediately all in.

The Duke of Sussex joked "I've got my wife" as he was offered an umbrella before taking to the lectern at Dubbo's Victoria Park, as Meghan provided shelter from his side. Prince Harry told the thousands who had come out to see the royal couple in Dubbo, about 300 km (185 miles) northwest of Sydney.

The Duke and Duchess have been busy in Australia keeping a full itinerary of appearances, collecting stuffed animals and meeting real ones at the Taronga Zoo. To highlight the plight of farmers the couple had tea with a family on their farm.

Prince Harry and Meghan brought the rain to drought-stricken Dubbo in NSW. He spoke of high suicide rates and the need for a strong community to help others who are doing it tough.

Here's real reason why Prince Harry and Meghan are visiting Dubbo

"You are all in this together and, if I may say, personally, we are all in this together - because asking for help was one of the best decisions that I ever made".

Meghan looked delighted, while Harry seemed more bemused.

It was a touching break from royal protocol for Prince Harry to speak of his personal struggles with mental health. "You will be continually amazed how life changes for the better".

Their first official engagement in Dubbo is at the dedication of a new plane for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

But according to singer Missy Higgins, who met Meghan in Sydney during the royal tour of Australasia, the mum-to-be may be further along than we thought.
