The selfless reason Julia Louis-Dreyfus shared her battle with breast cancer

Julia Louis Dreyfus joins the cast and showrunner of the television series Veep for a discussion at the South by Southwest Music Film Interactive Festival 2017 in Austin Texas U.S

She revealed she was battling stage two breast cancer in September 2017.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday night (18Oct18), Julia confirmed that she has beaten breast cancer and is back on set.

"Something like this journey that I'd been on, normally I wouldn't share such a private thing publicly", the HBO star told the publication, but added, "I knew this would get out there because we had to shut down production [on Veep] for a number of months in order to accommodate my situation".

"I very much considered the notion that, as someone battling this disease, the idea that I might not have health insurance, which I do thanks to my great union, is completely terrifying", she said. "And also I think it's an important conversation to have about health and health care", Louise-Dreyfus reasoned.

And it had a sense of humor and it had a kind of kick cancer in the a** point of view'. Julia Louis-Dreyfus- the award-winning actress has refused to quit from filming the final season.

But through it all, she appeared to keep her spirits up with social media posts that inspired others.

Back in January, as the actress went in for her last round of chemotherapy she shared a hilarious video her sons - Henry, 26, and Charlie, 21 - recorded to support her during her final procedure.

It shows them dancing and lip syncing to Michael Jackson's Beat It. Pretty swell, right? Ain't they sweet?'

But it's more than just inspiring to see Julia Louis-Dreyfus manage to work with such passion and still manage her cancer treatments. "I love making people laugh, and I love making people cry even", she explained, "I find the pursuit of a truthful performance to be deeply satisfying to my core". But I got really ill, so I couldn't have ever shot anything during that period of time.
