There is life after LeBron James, says Cleveland's Kevin Love

Carmelo Anthony's debut was biggest dud on huge NBA night

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed forward Larry Nance a multi-year contract extension.

Nance Jr.'s ankle is still black-and-blue, so he could very well miss the Cavaliers' first game of the season. The Toronto Raptors got up to a 20-point lead in the third quarter, but the Cavs were able to cut that lead down to seven halfway through the fourth quarter.

"We are extremely excited to have Larry in a Cavaliers uniform long-term", said Altman.

To re-up here for four more years and. wear the (No.) 22 in the city of Cleveland, I can't put it into words.

According to a column by ESPN's Zach Lowe, the Cavaliers had big plans for their roster if LeBron re-signed.

Lowry had a relatively quiet pre-season - he sat out two of five games and was ejected from another - but he came out firing when it counted.

Arriving in Cleveland at the behest of James, Love played on four finals teams in four years - including the 2016 squad that brought the first championship to Cleveland in 52 years - while watching one of the greatest motivators in team sports lead by example.

"I wanted this to be a building year and still be competitive".

More from "Nance, an Akron-native, worked with the Cavs so his salary declines as the deal goes along and the team can maintain cap flexibility".

We know he's going to get plenty of opportunities.

The 25-year-old Nance joined the Cavs midway through last season after he was acquired in a trade - along with guard Jordan Clarkson - from the Los Angeles Lakers. I ran around, jumped, blocked a couple shots (Tuesday) so I feel good doing everything. "To continue playing basketball for a franchise I grew up with and watched as my father starred here is truly a blessing".

"I think the thing with Cleveland is they're going to come in with an edge because James isn't there and they want to prove to the world that they can play a little bit without him", Nurse said.

He said the Cavs ownership and management would love to make the playoffs to prove they could do it without LeBron James.
