Apple admits some of IPhone X have faults in touch screens

Apple admits touchscreen fault with iPhone X

The Cupertino, California-based technology giant said Friday the screen on some iPhone X units doesn't respond or responds intermittently when touched.

Any iPhone X owners out there affected by this touch issue with their display? Apple also notes that this issue is limited to the 2017 iPhone X; presumably, newer models like the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR are not impacted.

If you've experienced any of this, Apple encourages you to find an authorized service provider, set up an appointment at an Apple Store or contact the company's technical support teams, who will assess the phone. The servicing is done through Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. If you fixed it yourself - perhaps using the excellent guides over at iFixit - then you're not entitled to a refund, but you do get to bask in the glory of carrying out the fix yourself.

Now Apple has announced that customers can have a free screen replacement, with customers who have already paid for the fix able to request a refund. The 13-inch MacBook Pro seems to be affected by the same quality problems discovered with the iPhone X as well.

Next up is a problem that seems to affect a specific range of 13-inch MacBook Pros - those without the Touch Bar, sold between June 2017 and June 2018, with either 128GB or 256GB of internal SSD storage on board.

Apple has a support website that you can visit to confirm if your system is eligible for replacement; the process is as simple as entering in your serial number into a web form.
