Apple plans to sell more of its products on Amazon

Apple said to begin selling iPhone XR, new iPad Pro, and more on Amazon

The Apple-Amazon deal will offer up newer devices directly from Apple, like the iPad Pro, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, Apple Watch Series 4, and Beats headphones.

In the case of other non-US markets: France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Spain and the United Kingdom are all going to see the hot Apple products on their Amazon sites along with the US.

Though some Apple products were previously available for purchase on Amazon via third-party sellers, the new deal will bring Apple-authorized sellers into the mix.

Apple does already sell some accessories, like the AirPods, original Apple Pencil, Lightning EarPods and more as of right now. Select devices, like the HomePod won't be available on Amazon, because it directly competes with Amazon's Echo lineup.

There will be some impact from this agreement on other sellers, though.

As of January 4, Amazon will rid its site of Apple products from third-party merchants not authorized by the Cupertino, California-based technology company.

"Amazon is constantly working to enhance the customer experience, and one of the ways we do this is by increasing selection of the products we know customers want". With the holidays quickly approaching, it makes sense that Amazon and Apple would look to strike this deal, despite the somewhat rocky history the two companies have.

There are quite a few points that are underlined with this new deal and that includes the fact that Apple and Nike, which have traditionally been averse to selling its products on e-commerce platforms are taking it up because of its prevalence and viability.

This could wind up being a big win for Apple, since using Amazon as an official channel for sales puts its devices in front of a ton of people.

Amazon said today its website will now offer the most-recent iPhones - including the XS and XS Max, introduced in September - as well as iPad, Mac computer, Apple Watch and Apple TV models.
