‘Breaking Bad' Is Getting the Movie Treatment, so Tread Lightly

An Actual ‘Breaking Bad’ Movie Is Starting Production This Bloody Month

While the film office wouldn't confirm that Greenbrier was in-fact a Breaking Bad film, a "source close to the project confirmed the production".

Gilligan is working on a two-hour film, though whether it's destined for multiplexes or television is unclear.

"Greenbrier" is the title being floated around for a project incredibly light on details.

That same source also reports that the title is now "Greenbriar" and that production in the Duke City is scheduled to kick off in mid-November and run through until early February. After rumors of the movie's existence dropped yesterday, we confirmed today that the film will focus on Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) following the conclusion of the series. Sadly, there's no word on whether or not original stars, such as Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris or Aaron Paul, will return for the new story.

The sources say that Gilligan may direct the movie, and he'll be writing it as well as executive producing. "I have not gotten the script, I have not read the script", Cranston admitted. We don't know if the movie will be another prequel to the epic events of Walter White's descent into a life of crime, or if it will cover new ground in the future. If you'll recall, the end of Breaking Bad saw Jesse abducted and held prisoner by those darned neo-Nazis, who wanted him to cook that sweet Heisenberg meth while Walter White was in the wind.

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is developing a new movie that's connected to the series.

My theory is that the movie will wrap Breaking Bad and its spinoff Better Call Saul together and show us where the characters are now. Now, fans' favourite Breaking Bad will be revived as a film. I loved Breaking Bad, and I love its prequel series Better Call Saul. "For years we've built up the film industry in New Mexico and strengthened our film incentives, now we're seeing success after success for the film industry in our state".
