Then NASA officials explain: "there are No space aliens here are not involved".

It turns out that sensational frame shows the capsule of the spacecraft "Genesis", which was launched on 8 August 2001 to study the Sun.

NASA added that Genesis was "tracked by radar and chased by helicopters".

Nasa gave UFO hunters across the world a shock on Sunday when they shared an image as part of its "Astronomy Picture of the Day" series entitled "Flying saucer crash lands in Utah desert".

However, as is visible in the photo, the return leg of the mission did not go quite as planned, as the craft's parachutes failed to deploy, making for a rather hard, 300kph landing.

Science Alert reports that the Genesis return capsule was supposed to re-enter the atmosphere when a mortar aboard the spacecraft was supposed to blow and release a parachute to slow and stabilize its descent.

Genesis had been circling the sun and collecting solar wind particles that are "usually deflected away by Earth's magnetic field", NASA said.

NASA added: "Despite the crash landing, many return samples remained in good enough condition to analyse". Its "results have provided intriguing clues into details of how the sun and planets formed billions of years ago", NASA said.

"The sun houses more than 99 percent of the material now in our Solar System, so it's a good idea to get to know it better", Genesis principal investigator Don Burnett from California Institute of Technology said in 2011.

NASA reported that the mission has allowed researchers to learn unprecedented details about the elemental differences between the sun and the inner planets of the Solar System. A fragment created by people robot who has been near the Sun and returned to Earth.
