"P***ies": Lovren taunts Ramos in Instagram tirade

Sergio Ramos returns to Real Madrid with groin problem

After an incident-free first half the game came to life in the second, with all five goals of the 3-2 victory coming after the break.

The Croatia appeared on Instagram Live immediately after the win and said, "Ha ha!"

Lovren's ire towards Ramos has seemingly stemmed from the Real Madrid captain's controversial challenge on Mohamed Salah in the Champions League final in May, which left the Egyptian striker with a dislocated shoulder.

'Haha! 3-2! Go ahead and talk now buddy.

Croatia beat Spain 3-2 with Tin Jedvaj scoring a late victor after an ill-tempered encounter, and Lovren took part in an Instagram Live in the dressing room afterwards. "Buddy! They are a bunch of pussies", he added in reference to Ramos and his Spain team mates.

He then covered the Spain flag stitched onto his shirt and said "only this side is worthy", pointing to the Croatian flag.

Lovren later questioned the plaudits Ramos receives and claimed that the Real Madrid man was lucky to play for a team where his mistakes aren't as costly as his own.

Lovren has in the past said that Sergio Ramos was made to look better by Real Madrid team-mate and World Cup victor Raphael Varane. "Ronaldo, a couple of seasons ago, when you do a mistake, but you win 5-1, 5-2, nobody sees the mistake".

And Ramos replied by stating he would take the bait set out by the former Southampton star - right before making a thinly-veiled dig.

But Ramos had refused to be drawn into an argument.

"If you look at Ramos, he has many more mistakes than me".

He said: 'I'm not going to answer Lovren or whoever wants to win three front pages or start the news bulletin.

A win for England over Croatia at Wembley on Sunday will see them top Group 4 and seal a place in next summer's tournament, but defeat could see them relegated.
