Shooting Star or UFO? - Reports To Shannon Air Traffic Control

UFOs spotted off Irish coast under investigation

Shannon then told the first pilot that "other aircraft in the air have also reported the same thing so we are going to have a look and see".

THE IRISH Aviation Authority is investigating the potential sighting of a UFO spotted by several different airplane pilots off the coast of Ireland.

It began at 06:47 local time on Friday 9 November when a British Airways pilot contacted Shannon air traffic control.

Officials from Shannon ATC quickly confirmed that there were no planned military exercises taking place and that there was "nothing showing on either [their] primary or secondary [radar]".

You can listen to the full exchange from the 17 minute mark below.

The pilot of the Boeing 787, which was flying from Montreal to Heathrow, went on to describe how he spotted a odd flying object that "was moving so fast".

She said it came along the left-hand side of the plane before veering rapidly north.

Other unidentified pilots also saw the lights.

Another pilot from a Virgin plane joined in and suggested it might be a meteor or another object re-entering the earth's atmosphere.

"It was a bright light and then just disappeared at very high speed".

Something weird has been sighted in the skies above Ireland - after several airliner pilots encountered a "very bright, very fast" object last week.

The Irish Aviation Authority said they had filed a report of the "unusual air activity" following reports from a "small number of aircraft on Friday".

They said, "This report will be investigated under the normal confidential occurrence investigation process".
