Wizards’ John Wall out for 12 months after suffering ruptured Achilles

Wizards' Wall to have surgery on ruptured left Achilles

- Washington Wizards guard John Wall is reportedly out for the season, as the team announces he is due to undergo surgery to fix a ruptured left Achilles tendon.

Wall, who was already out for the remainder of the season following surgery on his left heel, had also developed an infection in the incision from his previous surgery that took place January 8.

The whole reason why John Wall has been sitting out is to avoid further injury to his nagging heel injury, which had been bothering him earlier in the season and forced him to undergo surgery.

The surgery has still not been scheduled and Wall will not return to full basketball activity until approximately 12 months after the procedure.

There is no way to know what sort of player Wall will be when he returns, Douoguih said.

Wall, who had been wearing a boot, tore his Achilles with the boot off. "He had a slight increase in discomfort". He's owed over $169 million through the 2022-23 season.

He played in only 41 games last season, when he had an operation on his left knee.

Wall has had three knee surgeries with his first dating back to September 2002 when he missed the first 33 games of the season.

A bad season just got even worse for the Washington Wizards that will continue into the 2019-2020 season.

Washington Wizards guard John Wall walks off the court during the second half of an NBA basketball game against the Houston Rockets on December 19, 2018, in Houston. "You have to go to the players, the coach, the staff and say, 'Do we have enough to make the playoffs?' And to a person, I was told, 'Yes we do.'" Leonsis told Washington radio station WTOP last week.
