Apple says that together these upgrades deliver around 60 per cent faster performance than previously with around 80 per cent graphics performance improvement - that last figure isn't too much of a surprise as the Radeon Pro is a serious upgrade. The new 21.5-inch iMac starts at $1,299, while the 27-inch model starts at $1,799.

Interestingly, customers in Malaysia already able to order the new iMac via Apple Malaysia's official website. Apple's top-of-the-line iMac is getting 9th-gen 6-core and 8-core processors from Intel, which results in "up to 2.4 times faster performance".

If you want to walk into a store to pick one up, then Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Resellers will begin selling them in the week beginning March 25.

Following the iPad Air and iPad Mini, Apple has updated iMac desktops, with new Intel processors and AMD graphics.

Apple on Tuesday rejuvenated its standard iMac with faster Intel processors and AMD graphics, giving the line a much needed performance boost that's almost two years in the making. While the 21.5-inch iMac starts at Rs 1,19,900, the 27-inch version comes at a starting price of Rs 1,69,900. Also, this is the first time Radeon Pro Vega Graphics is introduced on the iMac. Radeon Pro Vega graphics will also feature in this new iMac, so Apple is continuing to position the iMac as a good choice for those who do a lot of graphics-intensive work. Meanwhile, the non-Retina display iMac configuration continues to be available for $1,099 in the US. The 21.5in iMac starts at $1299 which gets you an 3.6GHz 8th-generation Intel i3 processor, 8 GB RAM, a 1 TB hard drive, and Radeon Pro 555X graphics whereas the 27in starts at $1799 for a 3GHz 6-core 8th-generation Intel i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB Fusion Drive, and a Radeon Pro 570X GPU.

This also comes in a cofiguration with a 3.1GHz 6-core 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB Fusion Drive and Radeon Pro 575X with 4GB of GDDR5 memory.
