Hello Games fourth update No Man's Sky: Next added multiplayer support for up to sixteen players. The first of those updates is No Man's Sky Online, which will offer new ways of exploring the universe by allowing all players everywhere in the game to come together.

No Man's Sky: Beyond is the next evolution of what began with the game's last major update, No Man's Sky NEXT, which introduced the beginning of Hello Games' multiplayer plan, a third-person perspective, and much more.

While details about No Man's Sky Online are slim, Murray wrote, "We will talk more about each of the three major components of Beyond when we know we can be precise, and look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks". Want to discuss a possible story? Not entirely ideal, NEXT doubled down on what made No Man's Sky great and managed to clean up several other niggling issues within the game at the same time.

In a press release sent alongside the announcement, it's made clear that the multiplayer updates coming in No Man's Sky ONLINE are only one component of BEYOND.

Like Next, No Man's Sky Beyond is a free update that's actually multiple smaller updates rolled into one. The new online experience won't require a subscription, won't contain microtransactions, and will be free for all players, according to the developer. We also reviewed the Next update for the game. At launch, it might as well have been singleplayer, and even now that it lets you join forces with other players, there are quite a few limitations that create frustrating roadblocks. How has your opinion changed regarding the game?
