Samsung’s ultimate goal is to create "perfect full-screen" phone

Samsung new Phone will Have Hidden Camera Behind the Screen Without any Hole

But that was just the beginning as Samsung is working on completely eliminating the punch-hole by moving the camera under the display.

According to Byung-duk, Samsung is still two or more years off producing this futuristic screen, and before this it plans on reducing the size of the punch-hole in the Galaxy S11 or other future devices, until it's small enough to effectively be invisible. "We tried the technology for Galaxy's 10th-anniversary model and think the strategy worked as a result". Apparently not as Samsung is now working to remove it by completely hiding front-facing cameras behind the display. The South Korean giant skipped the controversial design feature entirely with the Galaxy S10 series and instead adopted a different solution - the display cutout - which, as it turns out, can be hidden rather creatively.

But like the notch, punch hole displays still represent a design compromise, and aren't exactly aesthetically pleasing.

Yang also revealed during the briefing that Samsung is considering building a Crystal Sound OLED display, which allows the screen to double as a speaker. Which company will be the first to deliver this dream phone?

Samsung's ultimate goal is create a smartphone with all of sensors embedded beneath the screen.

"Though it wouldn't be possible to make (a full-screen smartphone) in the next 1-2 years, the technology can move forward to the point where the camera hole will be invisible, while not affecting the camera's function in any way", Yang was quoted as saying by Yonhap.

LG Electronics Inc. adopted a similar technology in its latest smartphone, G8 ThinQ.
