Software upgrade for grounded Max jets weeks away - Boeing

Flight Simulator Shows What It's Like Inside Plane Just Before Crash

The erratic flight path appeared similar to a fatal Lion Air crash in October.

Air Canada has 24 Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft out of 184 narrow-body planes in its fleet.

The black boxes from the Ethiopian craft, which was only a few months old and crashed minutes after takeoff, are being analyzed by the French authorities to determine the cause of the accident.

On Wednesday, the Federal Aviation Administration ordered all Boeing 737 Max planes used by USA carriers grounded until safety concerns are addressed. The United States and many other countries have grounded the Max 8s as the USA -based company faces the challenge of proving the jets are safe to fly amid suspicions that faulty sensors and software contributed to the two crashes that killed 346 people in less than six months.

The FAA has said that the Boeing 737 will not fly until a software update can be tested and installed.

Air Canada said Friday that, "in light of the current uncertainty", it is suspending the forecast it provided last month for its 2019 financial year.

Regulators around the world grounded the Boeing 737 Max 8 and Max 9 aircraft over safety concerns arising from the crash of an Ethiopian Airlines flight that killed everyone on board, including 18 Canadians.

"Overall, we view the interruptions from the 737 MAX grounding as a temporary, one-off issue", Spracklin wrote.

In Addis Ababa, a source who has listened to the air traffic control recording of the plane's communications said flight 302 had an unusually high speed after take-off before the plane reported problems and asked permission to climb quickly.

"Following the banning of the 737 MAX from the airspace of many countries, including America, which is the country that builds it, this type of plane is now banned from Iranian airspace", Jafarzadeh said.

According to the flight data recorder, the pilots of Lion Air Flight 610 struggled to control the aircraft as the MCAS repeatedly pushed the nose down after takeoff.

Trump and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed exchanged condolences Friday, Abiy said on Twitter, with the USA president praising Ethiopian Airlines as a "strong institution" and offering technical support.
