McCollum keeps promise to infamous Jennifer as Blazers snap playoff skid

Thunder are the only lower seed favored to win in the first round

Well, Kanter disproved that notion in game one. But he made just 5 of 17 shots, missing all seven of his three-point attempts.

"It was fun", said Greece's Antetokounmpo. "With the situation and all the drama, it was so frustrating because all I just wanted to [do was] go out there and just win".

Antetokounmpo and the Bucks ran roughshod over the hapless Pistons all game and the 35-point deficit was flattering to the visitors.

Antetokounmpo was nine for 17 from the field and one of five from three-point range. Portland had won the last eight regular-season games at the Moda Center. Eric Bledsoe had 15 points, and Brook Lopez and Khris Middleton each added 14.

It was the first postseason meeting between the teams since the Thunder moved from Seattle to Oklahoma City.

Portland dominated the early going, jumping out to a 38-23 lead late in the first quarter. Led by guards Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, they stormed back to a No. 3 seed this year. The Blazers went on to take the 104-99 victory, led by Lillard's 30 points, McCollum's 24 points, and a 20-point, 18-rebound double-double for Enes Kanter.

After the game, Lillard called Kanter "the MVP of the Game". "He maintained a high level of play for a long period of time". "And everybody is going to be ready".

"[Kanter] was the MVP of the game, especially down the stretch getting us second opportunities, third opportunities".

George hit the game-winning 3-pointer against Houston on the next-to-last game of the regular season Tuesday, but he aggravated a previous injury during the game and did not play in the regular-season finale Wednesday at Milwaukee.

Also, Kyrie Irving scored 20 points as the Boston Celtics shrugged off the injury absence of Marcus Smart to defeat the Indiana Pacers 84-74.

Portland takes a 1-0 lead in the first round series with the victory.

Boston had gone into the game reeling from news that Smart is set to miss the opening two rounds of the playoffs after suffering a torn oblique.
