Microsoft releases its first free-to-play Forza game, Forza Street

Forza Street

Count up all of the Forza Motorsport and Horizon offshoots and you'll see that Microsoft has released a total of 11 versions of the Forza video game series.

Microsoft on Monday announced the launch of its new arcade racing game called Forza Street for Windows 10, a free-to-play title.

The Forza series isn't a complete stranger to the realm of free-to-play, but today there's another wrinkle in the franchise's usual timeline: Forza Street. Up until now, those games were available to play only on PC and Xbox platforms.

Unlike previous Forza titles, Forza Street does not require you to steer your auto to victory. Microsoft says it is designed for “racing on the go with streamlined controls that focus on timing of gas, brake, and boost”. Available free on PC today and coming soon to Android and iOS device, Forza Street is "an all-new Forza experience created to be played anytime, anywhere". You can even squeeze in a quick one-minute race while waiting for your bus, or get immersed in an endless story with multiple ways of achieving victory. After they win, they can get points to upgrade their existing cars with better parts or to get new and faster vehicles.

You can download Forza Street from the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 PCs and tablets now.

Turn 10 is keen to engage with the community for suggestions and feedback and plan to add new features with future updates.
