Jason Roy, Ben Stokes help England defeat Pakistan in fourth ODI

Mark Wood of England bowls alongside Imam-ul Haq of Pakistan during the 4th One Day International between England and Pakistan at Trent Bridge

All-rounder Imad Wasim believes Pakistan have gained much from their one-day worldwide series against World Cup hosts England despite having yet to win a match.

England will be without skipper Eoin Morgan after he copped a one-match ban for a slow over rate in the 3 ODI with Jos Buttler set to return to the side after he was rested last time out whilst changes are expected in the bowling unit with David Willey a candidate to be rested with Mark Wood and Jofra Archer waiting in the wings.

But for multi-format players such as Stokes this may be the least of England's achievements in a home season featuring both the World Cup and an Ashes series.

With tournament favourites England naming their final 15-man World Cup squad on Tuesday, Surrey paceman Tom Curran did his selection prospects no harm with four wickets for 75 runs in a maximum 10 overs.

Ben Stokes is desperate to get England's World Cup campaign under way after guiding the team to a series-clinching win over Pakistan.

Another flat surface, towards the shorter boundary, appears to have been prepared at the scene of two world record totals from England's big hitters, who racked up 444 for three against Pakistan in 2016 and then mauled Australia to the tune of 481 for six during last summer's 5-0 whitewash.

England batsman Jason Roy said his century against Pakistan was "very emotional" after a "rough morning" in hospital with his baby daughter.

"We got there in the end", man-of-the-match Roy told Sky Sports.

"I have to put every ounce of effort I've got to bowl fast and he seems to do it easily, which is a bit frustrating". Zaman (57) was dismissed in the 20th over by Tom Curran.

Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who did not appeal for the Curran run-out was left regretting that decision but the wicket-keeper was arguably more frustrated by his team's succession of costly fielding errors. Their innings crumbled after a century stand between Babar, who made 115, and Hafeez (59). The most impressive aspect of England's performance is that on all three occasions they batted second.

He faced 64 balls, with five fours and three sixes. Roy's opening salvo gave the flawless platform but when four wickets fell in 17 balls the contest was left hanging in the balance.

Babar's 10th four, a leg-glance off Stokes, took him to his ninth ODI hundred and first against England, in 104 balls before he holed out off Curran.
