WoW Classic Is Releasing Later This Summer in August

World Of Warcraft Classic Release Date Announced, Beta Starting This Week

After much waiting, Blizzard has finally announced its full scheduling plans for World of Warcraft Classic, the legacy server for its 15-year-old fantasy MMO, which time travels all the way back to version 1.12 of the game from 2004. The game, the developer promised, would be just as it was around the time it first launched over a decade ago.

World of Warcraft Classic will take players back to the game during the Drums of War update which was patch 1.12. The Sylvanas statue was darn impressive and while the jury's still out in regards to Jaina's face in her recently introduced statuette, Blizzard normally gets them right. An official list of each region's release time for this particular release date was also revealed, and you can find this date and time list below.

WoW Classic is included for all subscribers at no cost, and those with an active sub can opt-in to the invite-only closed beta, scheduled for May 15.

For those unaware, World of Warcraft Classic is a complete retelling of how the original WoW was before 2010's Cataclysm expansion, which irrecoverably changed the landscape forever.

The launch of World of Warcraft Classic will be preceded by a Closed Beta that is active today only for some selected players, who will be able to participate in the test phase and provide their feedback before the game is launched. Players will also have the opportunity to help us test the efficiency of our servers and technologies through a series of stress tests from May to July: sign up now on the account management page by selecting the WoW Classic beta.

Blizzard has released a new cinematic for World of Warcraft, showing the return of former Horde Warchief, Thrall. Those who are successful will receive the Obsidian Worldbreaker mount, created to resemble Deathwing the Destroyer.

The World of Warcraft 15th Anniversary Collector's Edition is available for pre-order.
