Liverpool 'reignite interest in Lyon star Nabil Fekir'

Klopp delays decision on £25m 'clanger' as suitors circle – Brinkwire

Liverpool pulled a deal to sign Lyon captain Fekir at the eleventh hour last June.

The winger spent the last 12 months on loan at Ibrox and looks set to return to Glasgow for a second season, and Boyd thinks it will help Kent learn the way that Jurgen Klopp's side play as the Gers do the same thing.

This follows reports from France that claim the Reds are still interested in a move for Fekir, a year after nearly bringing him to Anfield.

Kent will reportedly cost around £12m with Liverpool aware of what fee they could command from Premier League clubs.

This was then corroborated by CANAL+ and Eurosport's Romain Collet-Gaudin, who took to Twitter on Thursday morning to write that the Reds are "very interested" in Fekir.

Now, Liverpool are reported to be back in for him - but are only willing to pay €30 million (£26.7m) this time around.

Despite all reputable sources flatly insisted that the deal died that day last summer, the tabloid obsession with Fekir to Liverpool has continued to push tenuous links all year.

The Lyon ace now only has a year remaining on his contract and there are suggestions that he could be sold for as little as £15million so you can see what the boss could be thinking here.

"Liverpool have offered Fekir a contract until 2024 at €4M at year".

But it is believed that the European Champions have no intention of paying anywhere near the fee that was agreed with Lyon last June.

And Le Progres claim the upcoming friendly between Lyon and Liverpool in the Swiss capital of Geneva on July 31 may be a part of any negotiations, perhaps as a sweetener for Lyon if they are pocketing the bulk of the revenue from the clash.
