Allie Long's Key to the City Was Stolen From Hotel Room

USWNT's Allie Long says key to NYC was stolen from LA hotel room

A player on the World Cup-winning US women's soccer team said someone broke into her Los Angeles hotel room, stealing her wedding ring and the key to New York City she received earlier that day. "I would love a new one", Long said. The investigation revealed that on Wednesday around 9 p.m., Long and her husband "left the door to their hotel room slightly ajar".

No suspect had been identified and no arrests had have been made, the newspaper reported.

The celebration was cut short for a member of the World Cup champion USA women's soccer team after she discovered someone had burglarized her hotel room in Los Angeles.

The USWNT received a key to NYC at the ticker tape parade held in their honor following Sunday's victory over the Netherlands to capture back-to-back Women's World Cup titles.

In the meantime, de Blasio has assured Long that the city will provide her with a replacement key. Long received her key to the city Wednesday.

The USWNT then flew to Los Angeles to attend the ESPYs, where the squad won the "Best Team" award. The mayor, not exactly a strong proponent of accountability, chose to give the soccer player a new key.

The mayor responded Long's tweet about copies of the key.

"So sorry to hear it, Allie". Like any good New Yorker, we keep a spare for our neighbors!

Long was staying at the luxurious Ritz Carlton Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

"We got you covered", he tweeted.

"Take my ring but not my mans (or medal thank God)", Long wrote on Instagram.
