Chelsea's Azpilicueta unconcerned by Lampard's lack of experience

Gilmour impressed in the 45 minute cameo against Bohemians

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Cesar Azpilicueta has insisted that everyone loves Frank Lampard, newly appointed Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.

"Our level and performances were not good enough and the reason they were not happy with us and negative".

Now, amidst a gruelling pre-season, Kovacic, 25, has revealed he has turned to his new boss - who scored a club record 209 times for the Blues - for help adding goals to his game. We are the players, we are not here to choose the manager or the others so now I think this it's in the past. We're pressing a lot without the ball, when we've got the ball we have to move it quickly, and in transition (we have to be) very good.

"But every year we've had the chance to bring trophies back to the Bridge".

'Since I came here we've had people leave every season like Lampard, John Terry, Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole and Petr Cech, ' said Azpilicueta, signed from Marseille in 2012. The way he spoke to us on the first day was awesome and he's been great so far.

"It could have been even better but we won a trophy, which is always important, and we finished third. Obviously, sometimes we could have done better and now we have something unusual that is a transfer ban and we have a chance to see a lot of young players that are coming back from loan".

And for the first few minutes it was, as Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi stabbed home from close-range to give Chelsea the lead after just 8 minutes. No manager before has been willing, but something tells us that Lampard's arrival could be the making of him.

"But, over his first week in training, I've seen the way he wants to play, the way he wants us to feel the shirt, the way he wants us to train every day, it is something special". We are very happy to have him with us. We will work hard because we have an exciting season ahead, new challenges and the only way to prepare it is by working hard and getting success at the end of the season.

There's been very little indication as to what the former Derby manager has planned for the Frenchman at Stamford Bridge, but if he doesn't fit into the new philosophy, then at least he can sleep easy knowing someone out there wants him.
