Harry and Meghan's baby Archie christened at Windsor

Meghan was left devastated when she was forced to leave her other rescue dog, a labrador-shepherd mix Bogart, in Toronto when she moved to the United Kingdom to live with Prince Harry.

"I have been asked if I would have liked to have gone to Britain to see my new grandson being christened", Thomas, 74, said in an interview published Sunday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's two-month-old son was christened at Windsor Castle on Saturday and released two pictures from the event amid major criticism over their decision to keep the baptism private.

This is not an article about the supposed feud between the duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex.

Princess Diana's sisters Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale are also in the photo - perhaps hinting they could have been given godparent roles.

He was also dubious that Kate and Meghan were having a royal catfight and said that reports would have had to be framed that way to sell more interest to the public.

Archie, who was born in May, wore a handmade replica of the royal christening robe created by the Queen's dressmaker Angela Kelly. "They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment".

Keeping with royal family tradition, baby Archie wore the handmade replica of the royal christening robe, made by Angela Kelly, dressmaker to the Queen.

Meghan and Harry have faced criticism for declining to reveal the names of Archie's godparents, and not giving the public a glimpse of the event - though that didn't stop well-wishers coming to Windsor with Union Jack flags, banners and even a cake to mark the occasion. Engagements, weddings and births of their children. Archie's great-grandmother the Queen was unfortunately unable to attend because of a prior commitment; her busy schedule meant she also missed the christening of Archie's cousin Prince Louis past year.

It's believed that Meghan hasn't spoken to her dad Thomas since her wedding last May.

The private ceremony happened within the private church at Windsor Castle and was to be attended by roughly 25 people, together with Prince William and Kate Middleton and Meghan's mom, Doria Ragland.

The mother-of-three also gave a nod to her late mother-in-law by donning a pair of Princess Diana's pearl earrings.

Earlier this year the couple moved from central London to a more secluded home near Windsor Castle, about 40 kilometres west of London.

The small, private ceremony was conducted by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, who married Meghan and Harry last May.
