Microsoft Responds to Backlash, Won't Eliminate Internal Use Rights

Microsoft Teams hits 13 million daily active users, potentially more than Slack

So there is a chance Slack has a higher number of daily active users than Microsoft Teams, but for now, Microsoft is on the lead.

On Thursday, Microsoft announced that its workplace chat app Teams now has over 13 million daily active users.

Teams combines chat, videoconferencing, voice-over-IP calling and file-access capabilities for end users.

On Thursday, Microsoft announced that Teams has over 13 million daily active users.

For frontline workers, Microsoft introduced a feature that allows employees to clock into work and swap shifts. It plans to roll out channel moderation and priority notifications, which will ping a recipient every two minutes until a response is made, later this month. Given its latest milestones, Microsoft Teams is likely now more popular than its rival. "Joining the Microsoft Teams certification process is a clear indicator of our intention to provide best-in-class experience, compatibility and reliability in the unified communications market". The company is adding a read receipt icon to messages. The company says its Microsoft Security service is now generally available and provides more profitability to collaborators and customers. Despite the popularity of Slack among its users, the fact that Teams is included with all Office 365 business editions and above has given Microsoft and edge. There's a sneaky control for managers associated with this feature because they have an "option to geo-fence a location to ensure team members are at the designated worksite when clocking in or out".

Shure has joined the Microsoft Teams Certification program and is working to achieve certification for a select portfolio of Shure networked systems products. But a few new features may not exactly be welcomed by those who use it.

Microsoft is expected to talk more about this and other announcements at its Inspire partner showcase in Las Vegas next week. It said that since the inception of Microsoft's co-sell programme 24 months ago, the programme has seen $9.5 billion in annual contracted partner revenue.

The big news is that some partners will be able to launch Teams trials for their customers.

"Your partnership and trust matters to us", wrote Gavriella Schuster, the corporate vice president in charge of Microsoft's One Commercial Partner Organization, in a post Friday morning.

Finally, IT admins can apply predefined policies across Team functions including messages and meetings. Additional new partner integrations include support for contact centers, compliance recording and cloud solution providers.
